Is Mturk available in Philippines?

The answer is...... Yes!!!

Before I start explaining on how I got accepted, Let me tell you what Mturk is.

-Mturk is a marketplace for work that requires human intelligence. It's similar to crowd sourcing sites or somehow you might want to consider them as one.

-Mturk Hits or Tasks are viewable when you open their website even if you're not registered or accepted as a worker. You can get an insight on what type of tasks you can do to earn money.

- Requesters from 43 countries can now signup to Mturk which means millions of tasks are available to workers.

- Mturk payment method:

All workers can transfer their earnings through an Amazon.com gift card. Only U.S. and Indian worker can disburse earnings to their bank account. It's sad that other countries don't have any options to let their earnings turn into cash.

Registration

Registration to Mturk as a worker is simple. Just go to Mturk.com

If you already had an Amazon account, you can sign in directly to Mturk.com and fill out the form or if it's your firs time, you need to create an account.

You may try this. Go to Mturk.com -> Click Sign In as a Worker ->  Create your Amazon account -> Fill out he Form. 

Wait for an email from Mturk regarding the status of your registration. Amazon Mechanical Turk will review your application first and if the invitation is available, then, you can start tasking with them. 

My registration to Mturk didn't come out to be a good news as expected. I registered to Mturk on April 2016 and after a few days I received an email. See below.

"Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk,

We have completed our review of your Amazon Mechanical Turk Worker Account. We regret to inform you that you will not be permitted to work on Mechanical Turk.

Our account review criteria are proprietary and we cannot disclose the reason why an invitation to complete registration has been denied. If our criteria for invitation changes, you may be invited to complete registration in the future.
Thank you for your interest in Mechanical Turk.
Sincerely,"

I really felt sad and frustrated when I received their email because I really want to work with them to earn extra income. Yes! I was aware that earnings can't be converted to cash but who cares, I can buy stuff using the gift card and that's not bad at all. I also thought on selling the gift card for cash.

On December 28, 2016, I received an email from Mturk but didn't noticed it because I don't usually open my email, and if i do, I might overlooked it due to too many emails I received. December 2, 2017, I've decided to delete unnecessary emails and was shocked to see emails from Mturk. See below.

"Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk,
You are receiving this e-mail because you registered as a Worker in Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk). As an MTurk Worker, you can complete tasks in your spare time and earn money. You choose when and how you want to work. With MTurk, you can work from home, school, or even on-the-go with your mobile device. You decide when you want to work and for how long. You'll earn money and build reputation by doing good work.
Your request to join Amazon Mechanical Turk was approved and an invitation email was sent to you more than 30 days ago. To complete your registration, you need to return to the MTurk site. You can access the MTurk site, and complete your registration, at the following link:

If you are registered as an MTurk Worker and located outside of the United States, you must complete a tax information interview in order to comply with U.S. tax reporting regulations.

Your invitation will expire if you do not complete your registration by December 21st, 2017. If you are no longer interested in becoming a Worker, you do not need to take any action. If your invitation expires, you may receive a new invitation to join Amazon Mechanical Turk on a future date.

It took me a year and eight months to finally be part of Mturk as a worker. If I had just opened my email last year, for sure, this time I already earned big amount.

If you are from the Philippines who wants to do tasks at Mturk, I suggest you guys to start your registration now. If in a few days you won't get accepted, who knows, you might get your invitation faster than mine.
